Bushfires - A National Crisis

The recent, unprecedented bushfires have been devastating for many people, and in many different ways.  Our thoughts are with all who have been impacted by the bushfires.  The fire season has a long way to run and we continue to hope for the safety of all people, animals and communities and our beautiful land.

Many students will have been affected by the bushfires (and may yet be affected in the coming months) and will be returning to school shortly. Propsych has numerous enquiries seeking appropriate information and assistance in how best to support students who have been impacted by the bushfires.

The following organisations have provided resources that can be relied on to provide appropriate advice:

APS Information for ParentsBeyondblue - dedicated information page about mental health and bushfiresHeadspace - supporting a young person who has experienced natural disaster

Propsych's next feature event is The 2020 MHIS Conference
