Conference Presentation: Parents as advocates of relationships and sexuality education
The protective benefits and positive outcomes associated with relationships and sexuality education (RSE) within schools are well documented. However, successful implementation of these programs requires the active involvement and support of parents and other family members. This presentation will share recent Australian research findings, to clearly demonstrate what parents really think about RSE in schools. It will also provide insight from recent international consultations to highlight approaches that are working in other countries.
