Keynote Presentation: Speaking Gender and Sexuality Diversity at school: How to get talk right.
Research indicates that schools continue to be places that are hostile towards or silent about gender and sexuality diversity. There is also, however, data that shows that through their talk and actions, teachers can positively affirm this diversity, and increase feelings of safety, belonging and comfort for sexuality and gender diverse students. This presentation will cover how we can ‘see’ gender and sexuality diversity, and the best ways to talk about it in schooling environments.
